I just want the code so if you still have yours please put it up. There isn't a problem with my disk drive thing because it's worked fine installing all the other sims games. I dont want all this stuff about you shouldnt use others or go to the website. The disk isn't faulty because I have installed it on a different computer, the disk is clean with no scratches. Also, a 'Mystery Shopper' may visit the business and critique it. The game also rewards the player for meeting several predetermined goals. I have only had this problem with this one disk, and quite frankly it's driving me mad. Open for Business allows the player to control various aspects of running a business including picking which products to sell, crafting goods, hiring and firing employees, and restocking shelves. I have uninstalled and re-installed every Sims 2 expansion pack and the original Sims 2. I have also tried moving the file around as someone suggested in a different thread/forum. I have searched to try and fix this but haven't found anything that's worked. "Cannot copy compressed: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

I have tried various solutions, such as copying the files from the disk directly to the hard drive and running the install from the hard drive, however this was impossible as when copying the files, the following error came up: "A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sound\VoiceR2.package' from the media.ĭo you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?"
When it reaches 45% it comes up with the error: I insert the Sims 2 Open for business disk, and autoplay starts up the installation program/thingy, I enter the code thingy and it starts installing. EA has announced that they will no longer support the title, which already has a sequel available and another about to release. The Sims 2 is currently not available for purchase on Origin, so if you want the game this is the only way to get it at this time. Considering how heavily The Sims franchise relies on expansions, this is a ton of content being offered for free.
